NewBefore You Build in 5787, Establish What Is Governing You
5787 is not simply an invitation to do more. It is an invitation to govern differently.
There are seasons when God calls us to advance. But sometimes, before we build what is next, we must recognize what has been governing our movement.
Are we moving from His presence—or reacting to pressure?
From revelation—or urgency?
From the strategy of the King—or the demands around us?
Govern From Rest is not a call to inactivity. It is an invitation to establish ourselves in the presence of the King, hear His voice, receive His strategy, and move from His authority.
As we enter 5787, I believe God is calling us to change our rhythm because we have changed governments.
Watch the foundational teaching and discover the biblical and prophetic framework for the year ahead.
A RHYTHM FOR 5787
THE FOUNDATIONAL MESSAGE FOR 5787
Change Your Rhythm Because You Have Changed Governments
PRESENCE → REST → REVELATION → STRATEGY → SUPPLY → FRUIT
Presence establishes our position.
Rest changes how we respond.
Revelation reveals what God is saying.
Strategy directs our movement.
Supply equips the assignment. And the goal is fruit that remains.
WHY 5787?
Understanding the Language of the Year
The Hebrew calendar carries a language and rhythm that can help us pay attention to biblical patterns and appointed times. As we enter 5787, two Hebrew letters provide important context for the themes we are exploring: Pey and Zayin.
This isn't about predicting the future through numbers or letters. It is about allowing Scripture, the Hebrew language, and God's appointed rhythms to deepen our understanding as we listen for what He is saying.
פ
PEY
The Mouth • Voice • Expression
We are living within the 5780s—the decade of Pey.
Pey is the seventeenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and carries the numerical value of 80. Its name is associated with the mouth, giving us a powerful picture of speech, expression and what proceeds from within.
Throughout Scripture, God's people are repeatedly called to hear His voice, remember His Word and speak in agreement with Him.
5787 invites us to consider:
What are we hearing?
Whose voice is shaping our response?
What are we speaking?
“My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
— Psalm 27:8
ז
ZAYIN
Seven • Sword • Provision
Zayin is the seventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet and carries the numerical value of seven.
Its ancient imagery and Hebrew associations have led to themes including weaponry, sustenance and provision. And throughout Scripture, seven repeatedly appears within God's rhythms of completion, Sabbath rest, covenant and appointed times.
This creates an important tension for 5787:
REST and WARFARE.
PROVISION and ASSIGNMENT.
AUTHORITY and DEPENDENCE.
The sword is not an invitation to strive.
It reminds us that we must learn to exercise authority from our position in God rather than from reaction to what is happening around us.
Govern From the Presence of the King
When we bring these themes together, a pattern begins to emerge.
This is a time to become increasingly attentive to His face, His voice, His Word and His government—learning not merely to react to circumstances, but to respond from the place of His presence.
DWELL before you DO.
HEAR before you SPEAK.
RECEIVE STRATEGY before you MOVE.
GOVERN from the PRESENCE of the KING.
Because warfare wants to push us out of rest and into reaction.
But the Kingdom offers another rhythm:
PRESENCE → REST → REVELATION → STRATEGY → SUPPLY → FRUIT
The goal is not simply provision. It is the fulfillment of assignment and fruit that remains.
